It’s Time for a Move of God

It’s Time for a Move of God

If we learn anything from the early church it is this: they experienced a culture that believed that the Holy Spirit desired to move when they were together.

Acts 2:42-43 says, “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.”

Last week we learned that a “culture emerges when a community of people has similar values and uses similar methods to attain similar goals.”

The first Christians expected the supernatural to take place when they were together and, as a result, it happened.  What has to happen for God to move daily in and through our lives?  What has to change to see this “kingdom culture” become a reality in our church and in our lives?

SERMON NOTES:

Six Ways to Cultivate a Culture that Expects to See God move:

Acts 5:12-16

  1. Get rid of the ceiling over our minds.
  2. Have a hunger for His presence.
  3. Keep to the original design.
  4. See problems as possibilities.
  5. Advance the kingdom as a lifestyle.
  6. Fight to have a kingdom focus.
